Description
What type of wine it is
Structura Ultra Gran Blend by Navarro Correas is a red wine born from a blend of carefully selected grape varieties. The composition brings together Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, grown in Luján de Cuyo, in the Mendoza region of Argentina. It presents itself as a wine with structure, featuring an intense aromatic profile and good complexity, designed to offer volume and a persistent finish. The winemaking process begins in stainless steel, followed by prolonged aging in wood, which contributes to a spicy imprint and a marked tannic texture. Its characteristics place it among concentrated reds, defined by a full and well-outlined style.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo, an area within the Mendoza region, historically recognized for quality viticulture in Argentina. The alluvial soils show a strong composition of stones, silt, and clay – elements that foster a rich and solid fruit expression. The combination of different soil textures and careful plot selection gives greater aromatic complexity and a distinct sense of density on the palate. In this locale, the wine develops notes of ripe dark fruit and spice, maintaining a perfect balance between power and definition.
How it is produced
The manual harvesting of the grapes ensures the best preservation of the clusters intended for production. Afterwards, the must undergoes maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks for about 30 days at a controlled temperature, a process that favors ideal extraction. At the end of this stage, the wine rests for 18 months in French oak barrels, a crucial step to integrate the fruity profile with toasted notes. The set of cellar techniques aims to craft a full-bodied red, distinguished by a well-constructed and long-lasting overall profile.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it reveals a deep red hue, consistent with the prolonged skin contact during vinification. On the nose, prominent aromas of ripe black fruits emerge, with distinct hints of blackberry and plum, accompanied by spicy scents of paprika and black pepper. On the palate, the entry is broad, supported by sweet yet evident tannins that lend an enveloping and full sip. The finish is long and persistent, echoing clear fruity sensations accompanied by an elegant hint of toasted bread.
Food pairings
This red pairs well with fat-rich meats, where the tannic strength naturally balances the succulence of the dishes. It is particularly suited to grilled cuts, roasts, and boldly flavored preparations, enhancing the spicy components and dark fruit notes. In line with Argentine culinary tradition, it holds up well with asado, marbled ribs, and traditional meat empanadas with rich fillings. At the table, it is also a solid choice to complement structured dishes and braised meats, as it maintains its balance until the last sip.
When to serve it
Ideal for moments when you want to bring a full-bodied and structured red to the table, it fits perfectly into meat-based lunches or dinners. Its characteristics make it ready to drink now, but it also offers aging potential that can reach up to 8 years. During this resting period, the contribution of oak and tannic structure harmonize and give further depth. Particular attention should be given to the appropriate temperature when serving, to preserve the aromatic expression and ensure smooth drinking.
