Description
The Lagrein Conus by Alois Lageder is made from Lagrein grapes grown according to the principles of certified biodynamic agriculture (Demeter) in the Sand vineyard on the alluvial cone of Magrè, on gravelly and sandy soils with a high presence of dolomitic limestone.
Fermentation takes place through spontaneous maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel and aging partly in steel and partly in wooden barrels, to enhance structure, depth, and varietal character.
It shows a cherry red color with ruby red highlights; on the nose, it offers an intense and fruity bouquet with notes of plum, licorice, cocoa, spices, and floral nuances, while on the palate it is vigorous, intense, linear, and rich in tannins.
It pairs well with red meats, game, poultry, and aged cheeses.
