Description

The Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone from ColleMassari is produced on the organically managed Castello ColleMassari estate, located on the slopes of Monte Amiata in the province of Grosseto.
It is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected.

Fermentation takes place in small truncated wooden vats with extended maceration. After malolactic fermentation, which occurs in oak barrels, the wine is aged in the same barrels for 18 months, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging before release.

Poggio Lombrone displays a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of wild cherry and plum, evolving into clear notes of sweet spices, dominated by licorice. On the palate, it is full and round, with a perfect balance between the tannic component and freshness, leading to a very persistent mineral finish.

Perfect with braised and stewed red meats, this wine is ideal paired with game, wild meats, and aged cheeses.
