Description
Graciano is a red wine produced by Viña Zorzal Wines, a family-run winery located in Corella, in the Ribera Baja of Navarra. The wine originates from hillside vineyards situated between the Ebro Valley and the Iberian mountain range, characterized by high altitude, a continental climate, and stony soils. It is the result of a commitment to enhance native grape varieties like Graciano, using organic and sustainable cultivation methods.
The grapes are handpicked and subjected to a light maceration at 8°C. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with gentle pump-overs. 25% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new fine-grained French oak barrels, while the rest remains in steel. Aging occurs for 9 months on fine lees in medium-toast French oak barrels, followed by gentle clarification and light filtration.
It presents a clear ruby color of medium intensity. On the nose, it is intense and clean, with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar, and earthy notes. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with soft tannins and a medium body, revealing fruity flavors, mineral accents, and a long and elegant finish.
Perfect with aged hams, stews, game, and meat dishes.
