Description

The Nobile di Montepulciano TorCalvano reserve was born in the estates of Tor Calvano Gracciano, where Prugnolo Gentile (the local selection of the Sangiovese grape variety) is mainly grown, together with other red grape varieties, both native and innovative.

This wine is produced 90% with Prugnolo Gentile and 10% with other noble red grape varieties. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, in the second half of October, and the winemaking process takes place in the cellars of the Tor Calvano Gracciano farm. The wine undergoes a fermentation process in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature (28 °) and macerates on the skins for at least 20 days. Following this, malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers followed by an aging period of 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and barriques. Once bottled, the wine ages for at least another 6 months.

It is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with nuances tending towards garnet. The bouquet has hints of violet, with pleasant notes of cherry. In the mouth it is very balanced, with a great final persistence.

Ideal in combination with meats in general, it goes well with game, poultry and roasts.
