Description
What kind of wine is it
Boscarelli's Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is a red wine made from Sangiovese and Colorino grapes. It stands out for its structure and complexity, thanks to extended aging in oak barrels. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled oak vats, preserving the grape’s freshness and resulting in a rich and layered aromatic profile.
Where does it come from
Boscarelli's Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva originates in Cervognano, in the heart of Montepulciano in Tuscany. The climate, with its hot, breezy summers and cold winters, encourages a balanced ripening, producing depth and character.
How is it produced
The Sangiovese and Colorino grapes are hand-picked, then gently destemmed and crushed. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled oak vats filled up to two-thirds for about ten days, with pump-overs and manual punch-downs to extract color and tannins. Aging continues in Slavonian or French oak barrels for 28–32 months to preserve the wine’s structure and harmony.
Tasting notes
The color is an intense ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers ripe cherry, white pepper, and cloves. The palate is full-bodied with fine, velvety tannins and balanced acidity, followed by a long, savory persistence with fruity and spicy nuances.
Pairings
Boscarelli's Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, roasted or braised red meats, and game dishes like stewed wild boar. Depending on the wine style, it also suits classic Tuscan dishes such as pici all’aglione or ribollita. Its complexity and soft tannins enhance robust dishes.
When to serve it
The structure and wood aging recommend enjoying this wine after a few years in bottle; it especially benefits from some bottle aging to express its best.
