Description
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Damodes by Pierre Girardin is a Pinot Noir from a small east-facing parcel located at the border with Vosne-Romanée, on limestone-sandy slopes with the presence of pebbles and silts, cultivated with sustainable agriculture and low yields.
After manual harvesting and complete destemming, fermentation follows in cement tanks with maceration for about two weeks, including daily pigeages. Aging takes place in oak barrels for about 15 months, without fining or filtration, to preserve the tension and purity of the fruit.
It presents a deep purple color; on the nose, it releases a seductive bouquet of red and black fruits, with subtle woody notes. On the palate, it offers a dense, full-bodied structure, with well-present yet soft tannins and a balance between freshness and power, revealing itself elegant already in its youth but capable of evolving with complexity.
It pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, game, or similar cheeses.
