Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG Pinot Nero Brut Gianfranco 2013 Giorgi
Description
Gianfranco Giorgi is a Classic Method with a soul and a fully Oltrepani mold. It originates from areas particularly suited to the cultivation of Pinot Noir, where the Giorgi winery has its own vineyards.
Portrait of the Oltrepò Pavese, the Gianfranco Giorgi is made up of 100% Pinot Noir, harvested from the vineyards located in Montecalvo Verseggia, S. Maria della Versa and Rocca De Giorgi, between 250 and 400 meters above sea level with clayey limestone soils. Between August and September the grapes are harvested manually with the help of crates. In the bottle refermentation phase, the wine stays on its lees for a period of 24 months; after disgorgement, a further 6 months of aging in the bottle makes the wine ready for marketing.
Its color is straw yellow, with golden reflections enlivened by a very fine perlage. The nose is intertwined with fruity notes of apricot and vanilla with some greener and balsamic sage and mint. The taste is dry, with a velvety gait and a fresh and savory precision.
To be combined with a fried fish.
