Description

Martingana di Salvatore Murana was born from terraced vineyards located in the homonymous district, on the coast south of the island of Pantelleria, where the oldest vineyards owned by the company reside.

The vines are still bred according to the sapling system. Once selected and harvested, the Zibibbo grapes - known locally as Moscato d'Alessandria - are left to dry for about twenty days and then sent to vinification, which involves a maturation of 2 - 4 months inside barriques of second step.

The color is amber yellow, bright, with distinctly orange shades. The nose reveals a great complexity that mainly plays on dried fruit such as dates, figs and apricots, accompanied by sweet notes of honey and orange blossom and a spicy timbre of cinnamon and nutmeg. The sip is full-bodied, fresh, savory and very enveloping. The excellent taste-olfactory correspondence echoes in a long persistence.

To be combined with local desserts; it can also support the pairing with gianduja chocolate. Try it with the Sicilian cassata.
