Description
Château Latour is one of the oldest wineries in the renowned region of Bordeaux. Its name comes from the tower of St. Lambert, dating back to the 15th century, next to which the winery was established, now housed in a building constructed in the latter half of the 19th century. Since the 1960s, the estate has undergone significant transformations, including the introduction of steel containers for vinification and the adoption of certified organic farming in 2019, while about half of the vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
The wine's composition features a predominance of Cabernet Franc, accompanied by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in smaller proportions. Vinification takes place in stainless steel containers at controlled temperature, where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occur. The aging process continues in 100% new French oak barrels, contributing to the complexity and structure of the wine.
Visually, it presents an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The aromatic bouquet is deep and complex, with scents of ripe black fruits, cooked blueberries, mineral notes of graphite, and balsamic nuances reminiscent of cardamom and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is full, structured, and enveloping, with finely integrated tannins and a long and persistent finish.
It pairs perfectly with important red meats, noble poultry such as larded pheasant, and roasted game.
