Description
Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge by Olivier Leflaive is a red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes grown on soils rich in ferruginous clays, silica, and limestone, located in the lower and middle slopes of the appellation. This pedoclimatic context gives the wine elegance and finesse, highlighting the typical character of the Burgundy region.
The winemaking process involves full destemming of the grapes and fermentation in open vats, followed by aging in oak barrels with a short period in steel to integrate the components.
On the nose, it stands out for its delicate notes of fresh red fruits, accompanied by hints of green tea and dried flowers; on the palate, it is fine and elegant, with a balanced structure and a pleasant freshness that enhances its drinkability.
It pairs excellently with red meats, lamb, game birds, and grilled dishes.
