Description
This red wine from Château Canon-Chaigneau was born in Bordeaux, within the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, located in the Libournais region, northeast of Bordeaux.
The wine, created by oenologist Therry Garnaud, is made up of mostly Merlot grapes, with small additions of Cabernet Franc and Malbec. They are vinified in thermoregulated steel and cement tanks. The aging takes place for 12 months partly in French oak barriques, partly in cement.
Ruby red in colour, the wine expresses a complex bouquet of red fruits, flowers, white chocolate, with delicate smoky and nutty notes. The sip is silky, balanced, with surprising tannins and long persistence.
It goes well with grilled and roasted red meats and aged cheeses.
