Description
The Pouilly-Fuissé by Maison Ropiteau Frères originates from the Mâconnais region and is produced in the communes of Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson, and Chaintré. The Chardonnay vineyards cover about 766 hectares and are located on a geologically unique site shaped by the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, with predominantly clay-limestone soils.
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The maturation lasts 10 months and is partially done in barrels, with 20% new wood to add structure and roundness, while the remaining wine is aged in steel to preserve freshness and minerality. This approach allows balancing elegance and liveliness, respecting the character of the terroir.
Visually, it features a medium golden yellow with green reflections. The nose is elegant and unobtrusive, with pronounced mineral notes accompanied by floral, herbaceous scents and a hint of honey. The palate is extremely fine, smooth, and honest, with notes of honey and lemon and a pronounced minerality typical of the denomination.
Ideal with shellfish, lobster, veal or poultry in creamy sauces, exotic dishes, and goat cheeses.
