Description
The Primitivo di Manduria is produced by the Masseria Surani winery, located in Manduria, a historic town in Apulia and the cradle of Primitivo wine.
The wine is made exclusively from Primitivo grapes, which, after a maceration on the skins for 12-15 days, are fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with 3 daily pumpovers. The wine then ages for 12 months in oak barrels before bottling.
Of intense ruby red color, it reveals aromas of red fruits such as cherries and plums, along with spicy notes, tobacco, licorice, and amaretto. The palate is full-bodied and rich, characterized by elegant tannins.
It pairs well with grilled or roasted red meats, rich cold cuts and cheese appetizers, and hearty legume soups.
