Ravenna IGT Marzieno 2011 Zerbina

Marzieno, produced by the Zerbina winery, is a red that originates in the Ravenna area.

Sangiovese prevails in the blend with a variable percentage between 60 and 80%, completed by Cabernet Sauvignon in the proportion of 10-20% and by Merlot - or Syrah - at 20-40%. Vinification takes place partly inside French oak barrels and partly in steel tanks. It ages for 9 months in oak barrels of different origins.

At sight it is dark ruby red. The nose reveals notes of cherry, blackberry jam, tobacco and chocolate. The sip is enveloping but at the same time fresh, with a well-managed tannin and a structured body.

It goes well with an appetizer of aged cheeses.
