Description

What kind of wine is it?

Le Sponde di Coffele is a sweet white wine made exclusively from Garganega grapes. Classified as Recioto di Soave, it stands out for its rich and enveloping profile, a result of a meticulous drying process and subsequent maturation in wood. Its distinctive style offers a soft texture and solid structure, where ripe fruit notes harmoniously blend with delicately integrated toasted accents.

Where does it come from?

This Recioto di Soave originates from vineyards in the hilly area of Castelcerino, a region that precisely defines the local wine identity. The Garganega vines grow in an environment that ideally supports the cultivation of grapes destined for drying. This origin grants the wine an authentic character, true to the classic expression of Soave, rooted in very specific production practices.

How is it made?

The Garganega grape clusters are carefully handpicked between September and October. This is followed by a crucial grape drying phase lasting around four months, essential to concentrate the must. After a gentle pressing to extract the finest juice, the wine ages in barriques at a controlled temperature for twelve months before being readied for bottling.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows a vivid bright golden yellow color. On the nose, it reveals an intense and multi-layered bouquet, opening with aromas of persimmon, apricot, dried figs, and papaya, enriched by distinct hints of caramel and coffee powder. The palate enjoys a pleasantly sweet and soft taste, with a velvety body that prolongs its aromatic perception.

Food pairings

This wine's decisive sweetness makes it a perfect match for desserts, providing harmony with after-dinner treats. It naturally pairs with various types of fresh cheese, as its creamy texture is complemented by the wine’s smooth character. Thanks to its structure, it suits both fruit-based desserts and dry pastries, always maintaining a harmonious balance of flavors.

When to serve

This is a perfect glass for after-dinner relaxation and stands out as a complex sweet wine for the end of a meal. Its balanced character allows it to complement both desserts and fresh cheeses with an enveloping texture that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. It is also ideal for a dedicated tasting, where one can fully appreciate the aromatic complexity bestowed by the lengthy drying and barrel aging process.
