Description
What type of wine is it
Rioja Gran Reserva Contino is a red wine from Rioja made mainly from Tempranillo, with the addition of Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha. It ferments in stainless steel at controlled temperature and matures for a long time in French and American oak barrels, completing its journey with prolonged bottle ageing. Its profile is balanced and rounded, with pleasant tannins and measured persistence.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Rioja vineyards in areas surrounding the estate, managed by hand. The clay-limestone soils offer a clean expression and favor the integration of fruit and evolved notes developed during maturation.
How it is produced
Harvesting is manual and the bunches are collected in crates to preserve the integrity of the grapes. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by at least three years resting in bottle in the cellar.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it appears with a garnet color and reddish highlights. The nose balances ripe dark fruit and aromas from barrel ageing, with hints of vanilla, toffee, and tobacco leaf. On the palate, it is smooth and gentle, with a rounded texture, well-present but pleasant tannins, and long persistence on balsamic and fruity notes.
Pairings
Recommended with red meats and flavorful first courses, where the balance between fruit, wood notes and tannins supports intense dishes without weighing down the palate. The persistence contributes to continuity from one bite to the next.
Serving occasions
Suitable for lunches and dinners where you want a red defined by a long journey between wood and bottle, capable of opening up slowly with ripe fruit, sweet spices and tobacco. With flavorful dishes, its smoothness, persistence and balanced tannins accompany the entire meal harmoniously.
