Description
The Gran Reserva from Marqués de Vitoria is a red wine of great elegance produced in Rioja from Tempranillo grapes cultivated in Oyón, in the province of Álava, at an altitude of around 450 meters. The limited yield and the favorable climatic conditions of the harvest period allow for healthy and ripe grapes, ideal for a wine of long evolution. This Gran Reserva represents the most traditional and refined soul of the winery.
Vinification takes place at a controlled temperature of 28°C, followed by a long aging of at least 12 months in French and American oak barrels, along with an extended rest in the bottle. This process allows the development of a deep aromatic complexity and an excellent integration between fruit, wood, and spices, while maintaining the gustatory balance and the liveliness that is typical of the grape variety.
In appearance, it presents a brilliant cherry red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is rich and complex, with hints of ripe fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, liquor-filled bonbons, and toasted walnut. Sweet spices such as cloves and pepper also emerge, along with elegant notes of cedar. On the palate, it is balanced, with fine tannins, good acidity, and a long, dry, and slightly nutty finish.
Ideal pairing with roasted lamb, baked salmon, pasta with tomato sauce or cheese, and vegetarian dishes like stuffed zucchini with porcini mushrooms.
