Description
The Finca Martelo Reserva is an elegant and structured red wine produced by Torre de Oña, made from a blend of Tempranillo with small amounts of Mazuelo, Garnacha, and Viura from a vineyard over 60 years old. Situated at an altitude of 630 meters, with a north-south exposure, the vineyard benefits from ideal conditions for balanced ripening and excellent vegetative development.
The harvest is carried out manually, collecting in crates and subsequently cooling on refrigerated platforms. After destemming and a cold maceration below 10°C, the must ferments before being transferred to new American and French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation with weekly bâtonnage for 81 days. The wine ages for 24 months in oak barrels, followed by eight months in tanks to refine the assemblage before bottling.
In appearance, it shows an intense and bright ruby color with pinkish reflections. On the nose, powerful fruity aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries emerge, enriched by spicy notes of pepper, cedarwood, licorice, and pastry. On the palate, it is vibrant and elegant, expressing the terroir with intensity, with a pleasant, meaty, and persistent finish characterized by hints of red fruits and spices.
It pairs perfectly with stewed meats, meat roasts, game, and aged cold cuts.
