Description

What kind of wine it is

Matteo Correggia's Roero Arneis is a white wine made from Arneis grapes from the Roero region in Piedmont. The winemaking process aims to preserve the aromas and uses stainless steel fermentation at low, controlled temperatures along with systems designed to protect the must from oxygen. Subsequently, the wine ages for four months on the fine lees. This method yields a fresh and harmonious style with a distinctly fruity profile.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the vineyards of the municipality of Canale d’Alba in the province of Cuneo. This geographic origin defines the Roero Arneis designation, a Piedmontese area highly suited to the production of distinctive white wines. The specific vineyard context imparts the grapes with unique characteristics that translate into a final expression marked by clear aromatic purity, great freshness, and solid structure.

How it is produced

Harvesting is carried out by hand at the beginning of September, selecting the best Arneis clusters. The process features gentle pressing to obtain a delicate and balanced must. Fermentation takes place in steel containers at low temperatures, employing technologies that guarantee full protection from oxygen. The wine then rests on fine lees for four months, enriching it before final bottling.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color with faint greenish hues. On the nose, the bouquet is fruity and persistent, characterized by clear apple and apricot notes. On the palate, it is a structured white, supported by excellent freshness and measured harmony. The finish recalls the same fruity sensations and delivers an aromatic persistence in line with the aromas perceived on the nose.

Food pairing

At the table, it naturally accompanies au gratin vegetables and fish dishes, as its balance respects light textures without overpowering them. It also pairs well with delicate appetizers, especially those based on clean flavors. Its solid backbone also allows it to pair successfully with fresh cheeses, creating a pleasant combination that elevates every bite.

When to serve it

It is a recommended choice to accompany relaxed convivial moments or meals focused on sea flavors. The prolonged aging on the lees gives it a well-defined gustatory presence, making it suitable for more formal occasions as well. It’s perfect for occasions that call for a wine with clear aromas and easy drinkability, maintaining a technical, precise, and well-balanced style from the first to the last glass.
