Description
The Rosso di Montalcino Vigna Banditella by Col D'Orcia is an organic red wine produced in the municipality of Montalcino, on the Sant’Angelo hill with a southern exposure and altitude between 250 and 300 meters above sea level. The grapes come from a vineyard planted in 1998 with Sangiovese clones selected in collaboration with the University of Florence, representing one of the most typical expressions of the territory. The harvest is carried out manually with careful selection of the bunches.
The winemaking process involves medium-long maceration in wide and low tanks at a temperature of 25°C to preserve freshness and longevity. Two pump-overs a day and two délestage in the first days of fermentation are performed for a delicate yet effective extraction. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for about a year in French oak barriques and tonneaux from the Allier forest.
It presents an intense ruby red color. The aroma is broad and complex, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and light spicy nuances, enriched by sweet toasted scents like vanilla. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, with fine and persistent tannins, closing with an elegant and long finish with toasted notes.
Ideal pairing with roasted meats and flavorful dishes of the Tuscan tradition.
