Description
The Saint-Romain La Combe Bazin from Domaine Rougeot Père & Fils comes from a vineyard situated on a steep slope at about 450 meters above sea level, planted with vines approximately 85 years old. Although Saint-Romain does not yet feature classified crus, this plot is gaining recognition due to the extraordinary quality of its terroir, a true expression of the tradition and elegance of Burgundy whites.
The grapes are handpicked and selected in the vineyard, then gently transported to the winery where they are slowly pressed. After cold settling, the must is transferred into oak barrels, 15% of which are new, to initiate alcoholic fermentation. The wine matures in wood for 18 months, maximizing the expressive potential of the vineyard.
On the nose, it opens with delicate white floral aromas, followed by notes of ripe peach, hazelnut, and subtle buttery hints. The palate is vibrant, supported by a marked minerality and freshness, with an elegant finish that recalls white flowers and dried fruits.
It pairs perfectly with refined dishes based on fish, seafood, or white meats with light sauces.
