Description

The Scottish Ale of the Belhaven brewery

Scottish Ale is a beer from the Scottish brewery Belhaven, the oldest in Scotland (founded in 1719), which is located in Dunbar, twenty miles from Edinburgh.

How is Scottish Ale made?

This beer is a Scotch Ale brewed using Pale, Crystal, Black malts as well as Challenger and Goldings hops.

Sight, nose, eye and palate

The coppery red Scottish Ale is characterized by malty and spicy notes. It is a beer with a soft, caramelized taste due to the Crystal malt but well balanced by the astringency and fragrance coming from the Black malt, in addition to the herbaceous and resinous notes of the hopping.

What do you pair Scottish Ale with?

This beer is perfect in combination with aged cheeses and savory roasts.
