Description
What kind of wine is it
Insieme di Santa Tresa is a Sicily red wine made from Nero d’Avola grapes grown in the province of Ragusa. Vinification takes place in steel with fermentation lasting about fifteen days and a short maturation also in steel, resulting in a soft and immediate style that offers a fruity profile and round tannins.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in Sicily, in the province of Ragusa, from vineyards dedicated to Nero d’Avola, a variety historically rooted on the island. The name Insieme recalls the collaboration between Santa Tresa and a South African winery, linked to a joint project.
How it is made
The Nero d’Avola grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, then vinified in steel tanks. Fermentation lasts about fifteen days; subsequently, the wine matures in steel for two or three months, with no wood aging, retaining an essential and streamlined profile.
Tasting notes
It shows a deep ruby red colour. The nose reveals red fruit notes that are direct and easily recognisable. On the palate, the sip is soft, with round tannins and a balance centred on the fruity component.
Food pairings
It pairs well with flavourful fish appetizers, especially dishes based on anchovies, where the wine’s soft texture and round tannins complement the savouriness. It is suitable for dishes where oily fish is the star, when a measured contrast between fruity notes and marine components is desired.
When to serve it
It is ideal when you desire a red with a soft and fruity profile, suitable for informal occasions and tables with flavourful fish dishes. Vinification and ageing in steel enhance its expressive immediacy and clean taste, making it ideal for a smooth and convivial drink.
