Description

The Fondo Filara line in Nicosia represents the choice of the most suitable place of cultivation to enhance the characteristics of the most valuable native varieties of Sicily.

A careful selection of Nerello Mascalese grapes reaches the fermentation tanks. Vinification takes place with maceration and full temperature control. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages first in stainless steel tanks and then continues to mature for 5-6 months in barrique and for 3-4 months in large casks.

Ruby red that tends to garnet with evolution, it offers an elegant and complex bouquet that refers to aromatic herbs and licorice. On the palate it is warm and structured, with a long balsamic finish.

Recommended in combination with first courses and intense risotto, it is enhanced with red meats, a black pig sausage or medium-long matured cheeses.
