Description
The Reserve Pinotage from Bellevue is the most powerful and rich interpretation of the grape variety that symbolizes South Africa, resulting from a careful selection of the best parcels of old company vineyards. Located in Stellenbosch, the winery distinguishes itself with this muscular and elegant wine, perfectly refined by the skilful use of French oak, which enhances its depth and structure, offering a unique sensory experience for enthusiasts of intense and long-lasting wines.
The grapes come from irrigated vineyards located on east-facing slopes, cultivated on decomposed granite and shale soils. In particular, parcels planted in 1996 are used, with bush vines oriented from north to south. After harvest, the grapes undergo cold maceration for four days, followed by alcoholic fermentation in vats with three daily aerated pump-overs. At the end of the fermentation, the wine is separated from the skins, stabilized, and racked into French barriques where it undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation and ages for 22 months.
In the glass, it presents intense aromas of violet and cedarwood, followed by strong notes of sweet-sour raspberry, maraschino cherry, and an umami nuance. The palate is enveloped in fine and compact tannins, with a clean and persistent finish, highlighting the great concentration and balance of the wine, capable of evolving beautifully over time.
Perfect when paired with well-matured red meats or aged blue cheeses.
