Description
Gries is a Lagrein Riserva produced by Nals Margreid, sourced from vineyards located near Bolzano, at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The soil, of fluvial alluvial origin, is composed of sands embraced by the basin of Bolzano, which acts as a heat reservoir and favors an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of the Lagrein grape. This environment, typical of the south, is characterized by very hot summers and high solar exposure.
The grapes are harvested by hand and, after careful destemming, the must ferments in steel with delicate pump-overs. The wine then ages in barriques for a period of twelve months, followed by a further period of bottle aging, allowing for the development of structure and complexity.
In appearance, it has an intense ruby red color and good density. The aromatic profile is broad and engaging, with hints of black cherry in spirit, notes of underbrush, spices, and a touch of juniper. On the palate, it is harmonious and structured, with freshness, succulence, and elegance that accompany a long persistence.
It pairs well with guinea fowl with mustard or a fillet Rossini.
