Description
What kind of wine is it
The Chardonnay Südtirol - Alto Adige Riserva Castel Ringberg by Elena Walch is a structured and fresh white, made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Castel Ringberg vineyard. Fermentation in French oak barriques and aging on the lees impart full texture and balanced smoothness. This style is notable for its elegance and its ability to evolve over time. In the glass, it offers a harmonious and persistent profile.
Where does it come from
The Castel Ringberg vineyard is located in Termeno, along the Wine Road in Alto Adige, an area with a historic wine-growing tradition.
How it is produced
The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand with careful selection in the vineyard. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in Allier French oak barriques at controlled temperature, thus preserving fresh and delicate aromas. Ten months of aging on the lees increase complexity and creaminess.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant golden yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose, exotic fruits like pineapple and mango emerge, with touches of vanilla and toasted notes. On the palate, freshness and mineral sapidity balance smoothness. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with an enveloping texture.
Food pairings
The structure and balance of this Chardonnay make it suitable for white meats such as roasted chicken and herb turkey, as well as dishes with fatty fish like smoked salmon. Also excellent with sautéed mushrooms, porcini risotto, and semi-aged cheeses.
When to serve it
This Chardonnay Riserva is suitable for drinking young or after a short period of bottle aging, expressing its complexity between the second and fourth year. The balanced structure between acidity and body, together with its time in oak, makes it ideal for those seeking a versatile and profound white, suitable for a variety of gastronomic occasions.
