Description
Pure Gewürztraminer, Adler Zeichen comes to life in the evocative location of Klausen, Chiusa, in the province of Bolzano, in the magical Isarco Valley, the beating heart of Alto Adige, a terroir traditionally highly suited to viticulture. Adler von Klausen, literally, “eagle of Chiusa”, is the symbol of the winery, proudly displayed on the label, depicting the eagle—an animal symbolizing cosmic power, absolute freedom, and, therefore, life itself. The wine lives up to these expectations, presenting itself as majestic, austere and elegant. The soil composition, with its alluvial and gravel content, is rich in minerals which gives the wine both elegance and minerality. After gentle pressing in contact with the skins, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on fine lees for about 7 months.
The colour transforms in the glass like a painter’s palette, shifting from greenish tints to pale yellow. The aroma is alluring, intense and aromatic, with clear hints of clove and vanilla. On the palate it shows itself aromatic, robust and spicy.
Excellent with any fish-based dish, it is simply sublime with prawns, lobster, crayfish and crab. Try it with duck liver pâté.
