Description
The Taurasi from Bosco del Sabato is made from Aglianico grapes grown on the volcanic soils of Irpinia.
The grapes, hand-picked, are crushed and subjected to a long maceration, about 3 weeks in steel with selected yeasts; this is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barriques for a long period.
In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color and on the nose unveils aromas of marasca cherry, plum, maiatic cherry, licorice, and spices; on the palate, it is full-bodied, round, full, and velvety with a spicy finish.
It pairs well with dishes based on red meats, game, and first courses with meat sauces.
