Description

Poggiassai is an elegant and structured red wine produced by poggio Bonelli in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the province of Siena. It is made from Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes cultivated in hillside vineyards located between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, an ideal setting for producing intense, balanced, and long-lived wines.

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with extended maceration on the skins after fermentation. Aging occurs for 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by a long maturation period in the bottle which helps to round out the tannic texture.

It displays a bright ruby red color in the glass. Its bouquet is warm and intense, with notes of red fruit, blueberry, leather, medicinal herbs, and Mediterranean nuances, while on the palate it is balanced, elegant, and supported by well-integrated tannins capable of evolving over time.

It is ideal with roasts, grilled meats, flavorful first courses, game, and medium or long-aged cheeses.
