Description
Rosso del Cerro is a Tuscan red wine produced by the Capanna farm, located in the Montosoli area, north of Montalcino. The estate, managed by the Cencioni family since 1957, is renowned for its winemaking tradition and for enhancing the Sangiovese grape, which makes up over 90% of the blend of this wine.
The winemaking process includes alcoholic fermentation with maceration on the skins for a period of 15-18 days at controlled temperatures, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation, both carried out in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in large oak barrels for about 3-6 months, with a further brief aging in the bottle.
The wine shows a bright ruby color. On the nose and palate, it is fresh and fruity, with a medium structure and light tannins, enhancing its drinkability and overall balance.
Ideal with appetizers, first courses with meat or mushroom ragù, roasted white meats, cured meats, and fresh cheeses.
