Description
Ferraio is a red wine produced by Viticcio, a company located in Greve in Chianti and dedicated to organic viticulture. This wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grown between 230 and 400 meters above sea level, on clay soils rich in alberese and colombino stones, facing south-southwest.
The vinification process involves alcoholic fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature between 26 and 30°C, with regular pump-overs and delestage. After malolactic fermentation, which also occurs in steel, the wine matures for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
In appearance, it shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a fruity profile with hints of blackberry and blackcurrant, enriched by floral nuances of hyacinth and violet. On the palate, it is fresh and savory, with good body and a subtle, persistent finish, easy to appreciate.
It pairs perfectly with roasted meats, medium-aged cheeses, and flavorful pasta dishes.
