Strong and spicy in the main matrix it shows notes of black plums, blackberries, juniper berries, nutmeg, cumin, coriander, cloves. The secondary core is a swing of ripe fruit that sees a rising and falling of black cherries, dates and red plums. The fresh citrus lash is the setting with touches of chinotto and bergamot. Full body, silky tannins of splendid fine grain and an incandescent finish of very important length and stratification. Better from 2025.

Description

What kind of wine is it

Redigaffi by Tua Rita is a red wine made exclusively from Merlot grapes. It stands out for its structured and complex style, with fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature and aging for 18-20 months in first-use French oak barriques. The time spent in wood shapes a rich texture that combines concentration and precision, with a profile suitable for those seeking depth and aging potential.

Where does it come from

Redigaffi is born in Suvereto, in the upper Tuscan Maremma, in a mosaic of clay soils rich in stones. These conditions support balanced ripening and enhance aromatic complexity and structure.

How is it produced

The Merlot grapes are hand-picked. After destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins. The wine is then aged for 18-20 months in first-use French oak barriques, followed by further bottle aging to integrate aromas and structure.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose reveals ripe black fruits such as blackberry, blueberry, and blackcurrant, with notes of spices, licorice, and a hint of toastiness. The palate offers a full and smooth entry, polished tannins and solid structure, balance between freshness and warmth, and a long finish reminiscent of sweet spices and cocoa.

Food pairings

Redigaffi pairs well with characterful red meats, such as Florentine steak or sliced beef with arugula and Parmesan. It is also an excellent match for braised game dishes and accompanies roast lamb or glazed pork shank. Internationally, it complements boeuf bourguignon and aged hard cheeses.

When to serve

We recommend serving at cellar temperature in large glasses to promote oxygenation. The wine is enjoyable after a few years in the bottle and shows its best between the fourth and tenth year. Suitable for aging, it evolves towards more complex tones while maintaining aromatic freshness.
