Toscana IGT Sangiovese 2018 Le Anfore
Description
Wine based on Sangiovese grapes, coming from the company cru of Tenuta Catello del Trebbio, in Pontassieve.
The grapes are harvested manually in boxes with careful selection of the bunches, are de-stemmed and slightly crushed before being placed in underground terracotta amphorae where spontaneous fermentation takes place with maceration of about 30 days. At the end of the malolactic fermentation the wine is decanted and placed again in the amphora to refine for further 7 months.
Ruby red in the glass. It offers notes of raspberries and small red fruits in the nose, enriched with hints of licorice. In the mouth it is characterized by a round tannin and a mineral and balsamic finish.
Ideal with braised meats, medium-long matured Parmigiano Reggiano and other aged cheeses. Excellent meditation wine.
