Description
In the heart of the Chianti Classico area, a few kilometers south of Gaiole, there is this wonderful farm of over 160 hectares, of which about thirty are dedicated to vineyards. The strong temperature variations and the sandy soils, with the presence of silt, clay and limestone, offer optimal conditions for the cultivation of red berried varieties and in particular for Merlot, which here has found an ideal place to express itself at high levels.
The grapes are harvested by hand in a slightly late period and are fermented in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins for about twenty days. The wine rests in French oak barrels for 20-22 months and completes the refinement with 6 months in the bottle.
Dark ruby red, on the nose it is characterized by rich and elegant aromas, with notes of ripe red fruit, hints of berry jam, spicy and balsamic nuances. The taste is soft and harmonious, with silky tannins and a long and satisfying finish.
To combine with roasts and grilled meat.
