Description
The Pievasciata rosato is a Tuscan wine from the young winery Vallepicciola, located in the Pievasciata area, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, where it manages 105 hectares of vineyards following the principles of sustainable agriculture.
Harvest usually takes place in the second half of August. In the cellar, the grapes are first destemmed and crushed, then undergo press maceration to extract color and static settling in stainless steel for 12–24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation always takes place in stainless steel and is followed by bâtonnage and aging on the fine lees for 3 months. The wine rests in bottle for 2 months before release.
In the glass, the wine shows a light cherry-pink color. On the nose, aromas of fresh rose and red fruits such as wild strawberry and raspberry, while on the palate it is fresh, with medium length.
The Pievasciata rosato is perfect with warm seafood starters, octopus with potatoes, and cold rice and pasta salads.
