Description

The Toscana Rosso of the Il Poggione winery comes from vineyards located in the Montalcino area at an altitude of between 150 and 450 meters above sea level

The blend consists of Sangiovese grapes, present in greater percentage, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested by hand. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in steel containers, while aging is divided into large 50 and 30 hl barrels and in barriques. A further period of maturation in the bottle follows before marketing.

The color is bright ruby red. The scent is markedly spicy, with sweet spices and vanilla, and a vaguely herbaceous trail on a fruity background reminiscent of red fruit. In the mouth the entrance is soft and the body is full, enlivened by a beautiful fresh vein.

Ideal for the whole meal, but especially suitable for escorting first courses. Recommended to accompany pici cacio e pepe.
