Description
Branco de Sta. Cruz is a white wine produced by Telmo Rodríguez in the Galician region of Valdeorras, in the Ladeiras do Bibei subzone. It comes from several plots located in the village of Santa Cruz, cultivated on terraced slopes overlooking the Bibei River. The grape varieties used are Godello, Treixadura, Doña Branca, and Palomino, grown as bush vines and harvested manually into crates.
Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and the wine matures for 10 months in barrels and foudres of different capacities, a process that enhances the territorial expression and preserves the varietal identity. The vineyards, situated between 400 and 600 meters above sea level, lie on shallow, acidic, low-fertility granite soils, with exposures ranging from south to west and northwest.
In the glass, the wine offers refined complexity, with notes of white fruit, wildflowers, and mineral hints. On the palate, it stands out for its well-balanced freshness, elegant structure, and a savory finish reflecting the granitic soil and the vineyard altitude.
Perfect with freshwater fish dishes or soft fresh cheeses.
