Description
The Valpolicella Classico Superiore from Gerardo Cesari is a red wine produced in the Marano di Valpolicella area, in Veneto, where the vines grow on calcareous soils of alluvial-moraine origin. The grapes that make up this wine are a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella.
The production involves a 12-day maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation. After this process, the wine is refined in steel tanks for a certain period and subsequently rests in the bottle for at least three months before being marketed.
This wine shows an intense dark garnet red color. The nose reveals distinct mineral notes with spicy cherry aromas blending with hints of cocoa, licorice, leather, and musk. On the palate, it is full and velvety, with a persistent, long, and complex finish.
This Valpolicella Classico Superiore pairs perfectly with roast meat dishes or aged cheeses.
