Description
The Valpolicella Ripasso Valpantena from Bertani originates from vineyards located on the hills of Valpantena, a valley to the northeast of Verona, in the expanded Valpolicella area.
It is primarily made with Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes. This wine is obtained from a second fermentation, locally called ripasso. In January/February, the fresh young Valpolicella from the given year is re-fermented on the skins, which are still slightly sugary, of the Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena. It then matures in barrels of 30, 54, and 75 hl and subsequently in concrete tanks of 100 hl.
The Valpolicella Ripasso from Bertani has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with fruity notes of cherries and underbrush, enriched with spicy and chocolate sensations. On the palate, the tannin is captivating, the sip is fleshy and savory.
Perfect to pair with first courses, this red wine is ideal in combination with grilled meats, roasts, and medium-aged cheeses.
