Description
What kind of wine it is
Mizzole by Cecilia Beretta is a red wine from Veneto classified as Valpolicella Superiore, characterized by a refined and elegant style. Designed to express a solid balance between structure and freshness, it offers a dynamic profile that brings together fruity notes, tannic texture, and measured spiciness. The vinification combines different techniques to enhance its complexity and immediate drinkability.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located at two hundred meters of altitude in the contrada of Mizzole, within Valpantena. The clay-limestone soil helps define the palate and provides a marked gustatory tension. The cultivation enhances the authenticity of the territory and favors an aromatic cleanliness that reinforces this wine’s typically elegant style.
How it is produced
Processing begins with a gentle pressing, followed by maceration on the skins for a few hours at low temperature. Fermentation continues at a controlled temperature for several days, with frequent pump-overs to optimize color extraction. After malolactic fermentation in steel, nine months of aging are split: one part rests in steel, while the main portion matures in barriques and tonneaux.
Tasting notes
Appearing brilliant to the eye, with delicate coral red highlights. The nose offers an intense and complex bouquet focused on small red fruits like currants and wild strawberries, combined with hints of aromatic herbs and a sweet cinnamon finish. On the palate it is harmonious and velvety, supported by lively freshness and silky tannins for a pleasantly long persistence.
Food pairings
This red wine pairs easily with flavorful first courses, where its freshness balances the richness of the sauces. It is excellent alongside roast white meats, as its structure complements the succulence without overpowering the aromas. Finally, pairing with medium-aged cheeses allows the wood aging to extend the glass’s natural harmony of flavor.
When to serve it
It is the ideal choice for lunches and dinners where you want to bring a perfectly balanced profile of finesse and structure to the table. Its soft fruitiness makes it extremely enjoyable in convivial settings, accompanying the entire meal without ever weighing down the palate. It performs at its best if allowed the necessary time to open up in the glass, allowing the aromas to evolve and providing a rewarding tasting experience.
