Description
What kind of wine it is
Mizzole by Cecilia Beretta is a red wine from Veneto classified as Valpolicella Superiore, characterized by a refined and elegant style. Designed to express a perfect balance between structure and freshness, it offers a dynamic profile that combines fruity notes, a tannic texture, and measured spiciness. The winemaking process employs different techniques to enhance both complexity and immediate drinkability.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards situated at two hundred meters above sea level in the Mizzole contrada, within Valpantena. The clay-limestone soil helps define the sip and provides pronounced flavor tension. Organic conversion farming enhances the authenticity of the land and promotes an aromatic purity that reinforces this wine's typically elegant character.
How it is produced
Production begins with a gentle pressing, followed by a few hours' low-temperature skin maceration. Fermentation continues at a controlled temperature for several days, with frequent pumping over to optimize color extraction. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, nine months of maturation are divided: a portion remains in stainless steel, while the main part ages in barriques and tonneaux.
Tasting notes
It shows a bright color in the glass, with slight coral red reflections. The nose offers an intense and complex bouquet, focused on small red fruits such as currants and wild strawberries, joined by hints of aromatic herbs and a sweet finish of cinnamon. On the palate, it is harmonious and velvety, sustained by lively freshness and silky tannins that ensure a pleasant and lingering finish.
Food pairing
This red wine pairs easily with flavorful first courses, where its fresh component balances the richness of the sauces. It is ideal for roast white meats, thanks to a structure that supports the juiciness without overpowering the aromas. Finally, pairing with medium-aged cheeses allows the wood aging to extend the natural harmony of the wine in the glass.
When to serve it
It is the perfect choice for lunches and dinners where you want to bring to the table a wine with the ideal balance of finesse and structure. Its soft fruity component makes it extremely enjoyable in convivial settings, accompanying an entire meal without ever weighing down the palate. It shows its best if given enough time to open in the glass, a factor that allows the aromas to evolve and the drinking experience to be truly rewarding.
