Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva DOCG 2005 Balgera
Description
The Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva di Balgera comes from the Valtellina vineyards located in the homonymous sub-area, famous for giving wines of extreme finesse and delicacy.
The vineyards from which the grapes destined to ennoble themselves come from this Reserve are arranged on terraced floors along the slopes, spreading over an altitude range of between 200 and 500 meters above sea level. The fearless winemakers carry out the harvest manually, climbing on the narrow and impervious paths that wind through the various plots. The grape harvest is preceded by a rigorous selection that allows you to bring only the best grapes into the cellar. After alcoholic fermentation spontaneously triggered by indigenous yeasts, the wine ages for 2 years in large oak barrels and for as many in smaller barrels. A 12 month bottle stop makes it ready to be marketed.
Perfect in combination with a venison chop in black currant sauce.
