Vecchio Samperi Marco De Bartoli
Description
The Vecchio Samperi of the Marco de Bartoli winery rises from vineyards located in the Samperi district, in the Trapani municipality of Marsala, in the heart of western Sicily.
It is produced exclusively with Grillo grapes, harvested manually in small boxes during the last weeks of September. The selected and softly pressed bunches are sent for fermentation which takes place in oak and chestnut barrels at room temperature. The wine ages in the same containers for about 20 years, with the addition of a small part of fresh wine every year, according to the traditional so-called perpetual method.
It is characterized by a bright golden yellow color, with amber reflections. The nose is centered on notes of aromatic herbs and tropical fruit, enriched with hints of dehydrated apricot and fresh dates. In the mouth it is dry and enveloping, pleasantly soft and spicy.
Perfect to accompany aged cheeses, it is ideal with braised meats, bottarga and oysters. Also recommended to serve as an aperitif.
