Description

Merlot Bosco Rosso was born in Friuli Venezia Giulia, from the vineyards located on the hills of Rosazzo and Manzano. The passion and experience of the producer, Rosa Bosco, give life to this full-bodied red wine.

Produced with Merlot grapes, it was born following the hand-picked at the end of September. After destemming, the wine undergoes a drain of about 40%, and is then placed in French oak barriques, after completing the malolactic process. The refinement lasts almost 3 years, with frequent bâtonnage (movement of the fine lees and yeasts deposited on the bottom), to reach the end of the process with filtration and bottling.

Bosco Rosso is characterized by an intense ruby red color, with purple streaks, denotes a fruity olfactory bouquet, with notes of cherry and strawberry, enriched with shades of violets and pine resin. On the palate it is warm and full-bodied, with velvety and elegant tannins. The finish is pleasant, persistent, with spicy accents of nutmeg and raisins.

Ideal as a wine to pair with important meat dishes, excellent with stews, feathered game, and boiled. Also perfect with mushroom recipes, or in combination with tasty and aged cheeses.
