Venezia Giulia IGT Taj Blanc 2012 Villa De Puppi
Description
Friulano Taj Blanc was born in the historic estate of the De Puppi family, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Attention to the choice of the most suitable qualities for the soil, and the cellar equipped with cutting-edge tools, give life to this refined white wine.
Produced with Friulano grapes (formerly Tocai), it comes from the selection of the best bunches, harvested from the oldest rows. After a short maceration at low temperatures, the fermentation with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, between 15 and 17 degrees follows. Maturation and aging continue in steel containers. Characterized by a pale straw yellow color, Taj Blanc has an intense olfactory bouquet, with hints of exotic fruit, with notes reminiscent of almonds. On the palate it is well structured, fresh, and velvety in character.
Ideal to serve as an aperitif, accompanied by raw ham and cold cuts with a good component of soft fat, it is also perfect in combination with shellfish dishes, such as cicadas, scampi or lobsters. Excellent also as an accompaniment to vegetarian dishes.
