Description
Alois Lageder's Gaun Chardonnay is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown on the alluvial cone of Magrè, in vineyards located on sandy, gravelly, and calcareous soils.
Fermentation occurs spontaneously, while aging takes place on fine lees, partly in wooden barrels and partly in steel, to give the wine complexity, smoothness, and an elegant structure.
In the glass, it appears yellow with slight greenish highlights; on the nose, it reveals discreet yet intense aromas of apricot, mango, and buttery notes, while on the palate it shows medium structure, liveliness, smoothness, elegantly opulent, and dry.
It pairs well with appetizers, fish, grilled or roasted shellfish, pork, veal, and poultry.
