Description

What kind of wine is it

Cuvée Rot Blumenfeld is a Vigneti delle Dolomiti red wine produced in the Bolzano basin. It is created from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot Nero and Schiava, designed for a balanced and distinctive profile. The winemaking process includes fermentation in steel tanks and partial ageing in wooden barrels, which adds structure and complexity without sacrificing the precision of the fruit. It is an elegant and harmonious red, characterized by a good tannic texture and a clear territorial imprint.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the sunny slopes of the Bolzano basin, an area included in the Vigneti delle Dolomiti appellation. Sun exposure of the slopes is crucial for the proper ripening of the red grapes. The identity of the wine is born from the meeting of local varieties and international grape types, in a region that favours aromatic definition and a balance between structure and the finesse typical of sunny slopes.

How it is made

The manual harvest takes place at the end of October, with rigorous grape selection and transport in small containers to preserve their integrity. In the cellar, destemming and gentle pressing are carried out, followed by fermentation in steel. After this initial phase, part of the wine ages in wooden barrels, a technical choice that deepens the taste and adds complexity.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby colour, consistent with a well-concentrated red style. The bouquet brings out aromas of small red fruits with clear hints of raspberry, blackberry, and cherry, accompanied by floral notes of violet, subtle spiciness, and elegant shades of cocoa. On the palate, it offers good structure, led by the softness of ripe tannins that add to the balance of the sip.

Food pairings

This red wine pairs harmoniously with a platter of medium-aged cured meats and cheeses, enhancing the aromatic character of the food. It also finds an excellent match with grilled meats, where the wine's balanced taste keeps pace with the meal. Thanks to its enveloping structure and delicate spiciness, it supports the richness of meat-based dishes while always maintaining a superb flavour balance.

When to serve it

It is the ideal companion for convivial moments and dinners centred on bold flavours, when you want a wine with an elegant profile and adequate structure. Its harmonious taste makes it suitable for the cooler seasons, as it goes well with grilled foods. Bring it to the table when you’re seeking a wine characterized by balance and clarity of expression.
