Description
Jean-Baptiste Souillard's Viognier is a French white wine produced in the Rhone region, made from grapes grown in the Sanilhac vineyard. The vines, around 50 years old, grow on a hillside slope over 400 meters in altitude, characterized by granite and schist soils, which lend the wine finesse and complexity.
Vinification begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by direct pressing of whole clusters. The wine is then aged for 12-15 months in neutral oak barrels to preserve the fruit's purity and the authentic expression of the terroir.
The nose reveals intense floral aromas, yellow-fleshed fruit, and light spicy hints. On the palate, the wine is broad and smooth, with a silky texture and fresh minerality that extends its persistence.
It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, or white meats.
